    From the composer:

    The studies "...have been written for clarinettists who have already overcome the main problems of instrumental technique, such as change of register. This will ensure them a smooth progression through the album and provide the student with the necessary confidence to tackle the repertoire in all its diversity.
    [...]
    The varying basic character of each theme has enabled me to use widely differing rhythms, and even "special effects," which are simple and always accompanied by explanations on their performance, thus preparing the student for contemporary music"..."The unmeasured passages will heighten the student's sensitivity to sound color, and thus improve overall performance."

    Six of the études contain portions without barlines where the player has the opportunity to perform the written notation with improvisatory-like flexibility.
