Stacy Garrop (b. 1969) is an American composer. My Dearest Ruth is based on a letter, the last written statement of Martin Ginsberg - one proclaiming his love to his wife, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Ginsberg children Jane and James commissioned Stacy Garrop to adapt and set the letter to music as one of three songs by different women composers, to be presented in 2013 as an 80th birthday tribute to their mother, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The world premiere of the original voice and piano configuration was performed by soprano Patrice Michaels and pianist Dana Brown at the Supreme Court in Washington, DC, USA, on April 6, 2013.
