This edition consists of Franz Wilhelm Ferling's 48 Études, Op. 31 edited by Marcel Mule; it is expanded with 12 additional études by Mule, thus “completing” the cycle of keys by adding two études in each of the enharmonic keys of C-flat Minor, A-flat Minor, G-flat Minor, C-sharp Major, A-sharp Minor, and D-sharp Minor.
Since Cyrille Rose's 32 Études for clarinet are adapted from Ferling's Op. 31, clarinettists may learn from or otherwise enjoy reading Ferling’s original études which Rose adapted.
